I recently traded for a Droid 2 Global that works on ATT 3g. Phone is fast, but I'm not to crazy about it, but trying to get used to it. Rooted and flashed. The problem I have is this. When wifi is on it tells me I don't have a data connection. When I turn wifi off my 3g picks right up. Any ideas?

The WiFi is your data connection at that point. Do you have some need to use cell data vs wifi when wifi is enabled and connected?

I wasn't thorough enough. When wifi is on and cell data is off the phone tells me I have no data connection.

How are you turning cell data off? If you mean enabling Airplane mode, that disables all wireless connections.

I'm not turning it off. It's like the phone doesn't recognize the wifi as a data connection.

The wifi comes on its just not being recognized by the phone as a data connection

If it's running on AT&T's 3G network it's probably the software that allows you to do so which is messing with your WiFi as well. Try to find a Milestone 2 if you want to run GSM-only, that should be a cleaner experience.
