Signal reception? Does it seem to get a good signal in trouble spots?

My office is terrible for reception and this is the main reason I didn't get a Dinc2 weeks ago.

I would love to here how the camera is I've has the DOG (see how i did that there) for 2 years and the only thing that bothered me was after you click the shutter icon on the camera it takes so long to take the photo that by the time it focuses it comes out blurry. So how fast is the camera? Could you maybe make a youtube video because its a deciding factor for me

Reception is better than my DOG (copycat :)). I have had no issues. Web browsing is much speedier either way since it renders much faster than any other android phone that I have tried.

The shutter is much faster than my DOG (you can now consider that stolen) and the whole experience is better. It handles the autofocus, well, automatically. It doesn't do the whole hit or hold the button till the square is green then it finally takes the picture, which was always crappy.

If open the camera and put the reticle on something, it does it's thing and turns green when focused. When you hit the button, it takes the picture. The actual hitting the on screen button to picture being taken is much faster and the whole operation is smoother with better quality pics.

Sorry, can't make a youtube vid, hope this helps.

Here's my question:

Can I put my SD card from the original Droid into a Droid 3? Will it recognize all the pictures that are on card and add them to the gallery? Should I delete all the other program info and data from the card before putting it into the new phone - or will they carry over?

Anything else to worry about in moving from an original Droid to a new phone?

Thanks.

I put the SD card from my OG Droid in my D3. It recognizes the pictures and adds them to the gallery. I copied all the other stuff to my computer and deleted it off the card. I just left my music, pictures and videos on it.

It read it when I popped it in and there have been no issues.

I am new to android although I have been supporting my wife's DINC for a while now. I have noticed two things, that one, I am having to refresh mail even though it is setup for push for my gmail and my corp account, yet I am having to refresh to see new messages that arrived overnight in my gmail.

Also noticed yesterday while I was out of a vzw area I had to turn on the data roaming option, more than once in order to get data while I was roaming. Confused by this and why this is like that.

How's typing on the keyboard? Are the keys nice and clicky?

They are individual keys with space between them as opposed to the D1 which was like a mat of all connected keys. They are clicky and the whole thing is very nice. I was instantly a better typer on it than my D1 which I had for over a year and a half.

Anyone else coming from the D1 notice the difference in sound? Seems as though the ear speaker and other speaker on the D3 is not as loud as the D1.

My calls are clearer, not sure if one is louder than the other from the earpiece. The speaker on the back does not goes as loud as the OG Droid, it also doesn't distort as much.

Netflix work on the D3 yet? Also anyone know what the size of an hour and a half netflix movie is? Would help to know with the knew tiered data bs on Verizon...

When I'm done sending a text using the physical keyboard the suggestions box stays at the bottom of the screen until I close the phone. This happen to anyone else? Not sure if I should do a factory reset to see if it fixes it.

Happens to me too sometimes. Pretty annoying. I don't really want the suggestion bar around at all, is there any way to get it out of there? I tried unchecking the auto-replace and it still does that too.

Anyones power button at the top stick down sometimes? Also I'm not a fan of the volume rocker. It's difficult and requires a bit of force to click, and is nearly impossible to get to when the keyboard is slid out

I've got a question if someone can answer it...

I've had the D3 for a few weeks and due to some issues, I had to get a replacement phone. On the replacement phone, my notification icons are greyed out for email/corporate sync but on my original phone they were bright and colorful and much more easy to see.

Does anyone know why this is or how I can get it back?

At my local Target reception is almost impossible, but out of all of the phones I have ever had, THIS gets the best reception. I can actually use it in some parts of the store. I hope that helps.

So true, and when it sticks inward I have to try to click it to fix it, and the rocker buttons feel weird.

My wife has this issue with her's as well but I have yet to have it happen to me. I use SWYPE and she uses standard touch (my guess is that this is what makes the difference but I don't know for sure).

Same thing here, and I've performed a factory reset. I find pressing the home key usually takes care of it. BTW, this is my second Droid 3 since I bought the first one Aug 13. The first had a serious camera issue that would force close then freeze up my phone. So far the second D3 hasn't had that problem or any other problem except for a hot battery.
