DROID BIONIC Jelly Bean Update

I'm having horrible battery life today. Haven't used my phone at all (been busy all day), and it's been running hot and is down to 47%. Anyone else having problems? I'll probably factory reset it tonight if it doesn't stop.

Voodoo doesn't UPDATE su. That's what I was asking. You had to go into your superuser app and check for su updates BEFORE doing the protect with voodoo.

DOH! So now that I updated before that im screwed to get my root again... Crud.
I read that post of yours but I got to step 2
"2) start a CMD window and logon to adb"
and didnt know how to log in to adb. Little over my head on that one. If its that difficult then I dont really need root that bad haha.

All of my Google+ got re-enabled and I was seeing it drain my battery. I went into my accounts and disabled syncing for all the google+ and instant uploads.

Yes. I did that. When you restore it, it says it worked and that you have root, but you don't. At least for me.

Fortunately I was able to interpret these feelings correctly: loss of essence.

Hmmm. Something didn't go right that's for sure. I've got too much going on right now but there may be a way to fix it. If I get a chance later I'll poke around.

Which part of the US are you located?

We're not going to start this again are we? Updates are NOT tied to geographical location. They are done by device ID.

The update runs very smooth I used the no data loss in the HoB to get the error 7 to go away and it updated fine even with all my apps frozen. Voodoo worked great after updating SU binary thanks to the HoB I got it worked out and kept root.

I tried to get superuser to update the binaries from 3.0.3.2. The update goes well until it "makin?g sure new su works " fails. Any ideas why? Will build 15 (3.0.3.2) of the su binary not work?

The high-pitched whine is gone. That's good. However, using certain equalizer effects, there is still background hiss during non-silent parts of music. This can be minimized by turning off 3D surround in the effects menu. Sounds pretty good with no surround and *bass punch*.

I experience none of those with everything left as it was before.

That wasn't uncommon on the ICS update but faded away for most. That update took a looong time to re-index my thousands of songs and pics.

That is to be expected for the first couple of days. It has a lot of work to do initially.

Oh Lord, that's right. If you have a lot of music and or pictures the update can take a while. Forgot about that. Guess I am moving stuff off when I get home.

UPDATE:
I updated my SU binary after the update and after a restart I have root access again!
Checked with a few programs for root and its all good to go!

Can you give step by step directions to what you did.

Sure.
1. protected with voodoo
2. installed the .zip update from SD card through stock recovery
3. no root (even though voodoo says I do)
4. updated SU binary
5. updated superSU
6. reboot
7. enjoy root again.

Atleast thats what worked for me guys. Im backing up with titanium backup right now as a matter of fact.
Hope this helps someone.

I downloaded the update from the link posted, put phone in recovery, installed no issues...don't wait for the OTA

Most excellent. I'm cleaning up my own device. I didn't use HoB (GASP) cause I'm lazy. I simply reflashed system and created an updated razr's edge with all the latest superuser and su binaries. Yea, I'm lazy. :D I'm going to use those since we know those work with voodoo.

Sam, I realize it is way to early to tell, however, I haven't seen any red flags yet, are you aware of any? I don't plan on doing a root unless absolutely necessary. Thanks again for all of the help (I love the geographical issue again, wow, deja vu all over again).:D

Well my su binary is showing as not up to date, even though I updated prior to installing jb. When su binary tries to update now it can't get root access. Hmm
