So when I try to take photos with the bionic the only way I can get them to shoot quick is if I hold down the shutter button until u are ready to snap a picture and it will instantly take the pic with great quality.

Is this a proper way to shoot with motos? Something seems weird about it.....or is it just a bionic issue?

If you hold down the button until you are ready to shoot then let off its much quicker.

You are fighting the constant need the camera has to focus that has been put there by its software. It needs to focus. It YEARNS to focus. There are a few tricks and things you can do to get the focus you desire to be already present when you want that instant shoot. I do not know them all, but you seem to have stumbled upon the most common fix.

Alternatively. You can go out and purchase a camera app that will take pictures just the same as the OEM camera. My solution was camera zoom FX. but, that is 5 bucks. So think about it. Read about that or other apps. Good luck with your choices.

most digital handhelds have a similar function, you hold the button half way down and it will focus and prepare to take the picture, then press it the rest of the way down and it will take it instantly.

Echo that for zoom camera fx. Works perfect, very fast, I use it as my default camera.

I have no shutter lag because I use 8MP mode in lieu of 6MP, widescreen mode. It's much faster.

DroidTh3ory has a camera app that he calls the "Frankencamera" lol. I've been using it, and it's a hybrid of the Razr and Bionic apps, and shoots almost instant shots.

ive been running 5.6.893 and the camera seems a little faster

its something to look forward to when Moto rolls out the big update
