Switched from a Droid Incredible to this phone and let me say out of the box the charge was the biggest pos phone I've had yet. Plagued with random freezing, phone bogging down randomly, lost text messages, data dropping, slow camera and a number of irritating little quirks. Flashed it with the Altered Beast rom and it's a bit faster, the all the original problems remain. So sick of this about ready to lose my ass and trade for a thunderbolt.

Should have kept my Droid Incredible.

They used to swap incredibles no questions asked....when I call for a replacement of this phone they want me to sit on hold then go to another phone and sit on the line with tech support...not going through that with a rooted handset. What issues are considered no questions asked replacement?

Ive had 3 Thunderbolts and now 1 Charge. My Charge works great. So saying the Charge is garbage is kinda reactionary. "Your" charge is garbage. As for your no questions asked question... Being rooted and romed could be an issue for you since you voided the warrenty. But a dead phone may warrent a new one as long as you are inside your 14 days.

Bring it to a verizon store to swap it. Make sure it's in an affluent area (customer service is usually better).

Ok maybe I have a lemon. If it's put back to stock the root/rom is not an issue.

Sorry to hear you are having problems. I had the thunderbolt before the charge and there is no comparision. The thunderbolt was a terrible phone and had a host of problems. I have had some minor glitches with the charge but overall love the phone. You probably have a lemon - have verizon send you a new one and see if you like the phone better.

I have the charge and my GF has the Tbolt. Playing with both I have to say the charge is the superior 4LTE phone. The Tbolt randomly reboots more often than the charge and it sucks battery pretty quickly. You may very well gotten a lemon and I'd exchange it and see if you have a better experience.

As far as the brick and mortar stores go all the corporate verizon stores I have gone to I haven't had the best of luck. Seems the area didn't matter much, they just want to push units out the door. When I got the charge and the Tbolt I went to an independent store and had a much better experience. They spent a lot of time explaining and seems to know more and care more about the product. Yes, I live in the woods but work in the metro area so it was my choice to not go to the corp. store.

Keep us posted on your results. My phone is quick and AWESOME. first androind (coming from iphone 4) and loving it. Definitely not slow, 16mps downloads on LTE and running gummycharged (thinking about going back to gingerbread leak)

If you are within the first 30 days go back to where u bought it or if purchased online then go into a corporate store. Else, call 1866-406-5154 its tech supports direct number. They will exchange the phone just tell them the device will not power on past the samsung screen. Sit on the phone and pretend to follow directions.

You got the wrong phone son

good luck with the TB if you think you are going to get a trouble free phone lol

While the TB is a good phone it has its own set of problems, more then I wanted to deal with but I never rooted and ROMed the TB so it might be a different experience and the TB might be the phone for you if swapping out the charge doesnt help

good luck either way

I'm sure you can find someone on the Bolt forums willing to swap, but each of these phones have there own issues.

Funny thing these days how all phones (even the same brand/model) don't seem to be created equal.

You say you're rooted right? If so, why don't you just flash the stock odin images and then upgrade back to EE4, and re-root. Shouldn't take longer than 1 hour.

you say you flashed the Altered Beast Rom, be sure to install the VooDoo Kernel also. That should take care of it.

Honestly I have the same problems as the op, my Charge drops data constantly, battery life on 3g/4g is so bad I get about half a day max, the camera freezes just about every time I use it, and more. I've rooted, romed, flashed a new kernal, and just about pulled my hair out trying to get decent performance out of it and all I get in return is a random reboot or two...

Funny thing is, my family all got Charges, and they each have their own set of issues. All in all I'm just counting the days until I can get my hands on a Bionic.

Have you tried different ROMs? Have you tried underclocking?

Are you planning to just ebay the Charge and pay full price for a Bionic??
