Is it carrier unlocked then? Using it on another carrier? You may be able to update via WiFi...

yes it is unlocked but i cannot update it

If the update fails over WiFi, then you would have to flash a custom ROM or find the Verizon ROM for your device and flash that. Either will delete your user data.

That is definitely an issue of taking a branded phone off that network since the network adds to the Google content of Android before they push out an update. So if you are not on the network name on the device, no one is looking for it to send the update...
