You may be able to upgrade. Verizon has a policy that if you get 3 clunkers, they'll swap you out to a different phone. I went through this last year with my old Blackberry Storm. I kept getting clunker after clunker after clunker. Now, here's the thing. If you haven't already, take note of everyone you talk to and everything they tell you. It might save you some frustration. Example: Two of the reps I talked to on the phone told me that I'd be able to swap out no problem. I was told a Tour would be a comparable swap so it wouldn't be a problem. When nothing showed up a week later, I called Verizon to find out what was going on and found out that the work order was not completed. When I set up the exchange again, this rep told me that there would be a charge for the difference between the phones of $150, and that the Tour was not a comparable phone to the Storm. According to this rep, the comparable phones were the Pearl Flip, the Curve, or a couple of previous generation Windows Mobile phones. So, after a day of me being completely pissed the hell off, I called again the next day to figure out what was going on, told the rep I was talking to everyone I talked to and everything they had said, things ended up working out and I got a Tour swapped without getting charged, though this rep informed me that I'd be re-upped for an additional year, which all the other reps failed to tell me. The alternative would have been me taking that $150 and applying it to the early termination fee and telling them where to stick it.
So, long story short, keep notes of who you've talked to, the problems you've had with the phone, and how many times you've had your Droid swapped out. Be prepared to possibly pay a fee to make up for the difference between the cost of the Droid and the Incredible, and don't be surprised if the value of the Droid that they use is moronically low. And be prepared to add another year to your contract. It might be a pain in the ass to deal with, but it may be worth it if the Incredible pans out as a good phone.
