The more I hear about this phone...the more I find myself just wanting to get an original Incredible for like $50 when this comes out. Is there really that much of a difference here?

I have the Incredible. I like it a lot - I just wish it had a bigger screen. The Inc2's 4" screen might be the perfect size for a phone.

Plus, if you need global coverage as some people do, the Inc2 is a really nice alternative to Motorola's global offering.

Did anyone else notice "wireless charging" is still on the splash screen? I think this thing has inductive charging that Verizon is waiting to announce...don't really know why they are waiting, but I have hope!

Oh trust me, I know - I was the same way for the longest time. I'd agree with you with if we talking about the size difference between an iPhone 4 and Thunderbolt, but the size difference between the Incredible 2 and the Thunderbolt comes down to a couple millimeters, which I will gladly take for a larger screen. I do understand not everyone is like that, though.

I've seen that splash screen a couple places now, and REALLLLY hoping that it holds true

You'd be surprised how much a couple of millimeters in each direction can change the feel of the device. (And the Thunderbolt is significantly heavier.)

Maybe, so I'll reserve judgement until I handle it at the store.

I honestly do understand that not everyone wants a goliath for a phone, though. I didn't want one because of the size of it in the pocket, but it's fine in the summertime when I'm wearing shorts because the pockets are bigger. But after test driving the Thunderbolt for a few days, I just really loved the screen size and it fit my massive hands well, so I kept it.

Honestly, you didn't miss much. He never finished the Setup process on the phone; so, we didn't see squat other than the physical aspects of the phone - the details of which have been leaked all over the Web already.

uhh the first dinc has the same size screen :-\ I agree it's the perfect size though. I really hope this trend of bigger screens goes away, i mean is it the rev that's got a 4.5"? that's just ridiculous.

The first Inc has a smaller screen at 3.7 inches. The Inc 2 has a 4" screen, and I expect that extra room to make a big difference.

Huh, consider my foot firmly in my mouth, but I swear I've read posts on engadget referencing it as a 4" though I've never measured mine or anything, lol

Nope, it's 3.7". Same as the Droid, Nexus One, etc.

I think the size of the new Incredible is going to be great. I don't like the size of the TB or the Droid X. 4.0 screen is perfect since they have done away with the 3.7 Incredible. I like my current device and the new Incredible has some great offerings. front face camera and being global for those who travel outside the US. Wireless charging will be great too and I thought it was to have the 3.0 Sense as well.......correct me if I am wrong.
