!Droid Incredible ROOTING not working HELP!

I have followed every single step possibly on youtube about rooting the Droid Incredible. I get to all of the steps but when it gets to the point of typing adb shell after you reboot the phone, I keep getting device offline error, not the device not found error. It will not find it when its in recovery mode. Is there something I am doing wrong? I followed that procedure EXACTLY and its still not working. Is it because of the new update that came out? Please help!!

yeah the root is for 2.1. haven't seen a post for 2.2 root... other than the steps to carry it over from 2.1 when upgrading.

Is there a way to downgrade, the upgrade with the root access? Or do we just have to wait until they figure out a way with 2.2? Do you think there is someone working on that right now if thats the case?

Unless you have installed unrevoked s-off before you took the update all you can do is now wait. They are working on a new root for 2.2 and it sounds like it won't be long before they have one.

Where did you find the information for that? Hmm, I wonder if you can root it the same way as the Droid 2 since it has 2.2 stock already.. If you have a link on that, that would be great so I can read on it. Thanks again!

I have the Dinc and updated to 2.2 before i rooted my phone. I was able to roll back to 2.1 then root it using Unrevoked. So it can be done because i did it. I forgot wear I saw the link to roll back to 2.1 but its out there.

Yeah.. I found the link to actually do the rollback, but on a certain step in the adb shell it gives me permission denied when copying over a file to the sdcard. I dont know why.. Would you happen to know why this may be causing it? It allowed me to push two of the files to the phone, but sdcard it failed out..

It has been updated to root for 2.2 but has been taken down for a bit because of some bug issues on the EVO. Hopefully it comes back up soon for everyone though
