Droid Incredible Shipping?

I called again today and asked about the order for my incredible placed in the store on 5/9. He first was surprised that I had not received my phone yet but once I told him which one his attitude turned around. He said "oh that will be shipped on the 29th, that is when the release date is". "Release date?" I asked, he said "yes you pre-ordered the phone." I just hung up. He tried to make it sound like the phone wasn't even out yet. What a joke. Guess I will just have to wait until the 29th.

I don't think he was trying to make it sound like the phone hasn't been released yet. I suspect that he just doesn't know any better.

I ordered from a Verizon Store on 5/11 and haven't heard a peep

I called last thursday and the rep claimed it shipped on the 12th- so I'm eagerly awaitying getting home from work to play with my new super phone and nothing.

That POS phone rep lied to me and really got my hopes up


After reading thru this thread, Im feeling a little sick. They said the 29th would be the latest but from the looks of it (Saturday on Holiday weekend) we will not seeing our phones til AT LEAST June 2nd.

I am starting to regret getting this phone. Im stuck with a Razor2 that can't even hold a charge for 6 hours

Yeah, I don't have it that bad, I've got a Tour 9630, but its not what I want anymore, after playing with the Incredible, I feel like I'm carrying around a dumbphone instead of a smartphone. I really just want the device before I go to Cedar Point the 5-7th of June.. then I'd be happy.

You are one lucky son of a gun. I live in Western New York and there is not a single one in any Verizon store anywhere. The lady did a 100 mile search and nothing

Was it the last one? Did they just recieve it?
 
Over on another forum, a guy is claiming to have ordered 2 Incredibles on 5/15 and he got them both today. He said he's a Verizon employee so I guess they get preferential treatment. Kind of ticked me off a little bit, but such is life. :mad:
 
I just called the *611 customer service number and they were completely useless. They couldn't even find anything on the specific order.

So I then called the store I purchased it from. The lady said that the phone is on backorder untill June 1st. She then put me on hold and came back and said that SOME people have been getting their phone's early. There is no way to tell if you will be one of the lucky few so cross your fingers and hope a FedEx truck pulls in your driveway...
 
I called today to try and cancel my order and was told that because it had been processed, there was no way to cancel it and that I would have to refuse shipment (even though thats 2 weeks from now) and then everything would be credited, cancelled, etc...

Really? There is no way to cancel an order that was placed on the internet? I could see if it had been shipped, but knowing that we are weeks out, this seems possible.

Thoughts?

I can confirm that this is the case. I have run into this a few times with Verizon. they have great logistics and can turn orders like nobody's business, but for some reason, once the order is processed its locked in thier system.

I tried to cancel and was told the same thing. I ordered 5/9. Verizon charged my credit card on 5/10 for a product that they have no idea when it will ship. I order a lot of stuff from the internet and this is one of the few times I have ever been charged for an item that far in advance of shipping. Not being able to cancel and being charged weeks in advance are both examples of poor business practices. Do you think Verizon would tolerate me holding my payment three weeks past the due date? I think not.
 
Do a chargeback on your credit card if you ordered that way. I promise you if they don't get the money they aren't sending that phone out. I've found too that if you get ill enough on the phone without going overboard you get better result. Keep asking for their supervisor until you get someone who can do it.

But why cancel the order if you want the phone?
 
I think I mentioned it in here earlier... but canceling the same day of purchase is easy, doing it the following days makes it harder, but it can be done.

I had to speak to an executive who told me she could do it, but then told me if I wanted the phone, like Qazme is suggesting, that I would have to wait even longer in the future for it until they catch up on their back-orders. Which made me stick with my current order, but it most certainly can be done. (I have the email to prove it!) :D

She also insinuated that the cancellation at this point in the process would take a little bit longer than a normal charge-back. I thought to myself, wouldn't it suck that during the time that I'm waiting for my money to roll back into my account... my phone could have shipped? So, I stuck with it. And about 2 hours after talking to her I got a tracking number and my phone was here the next morning. Heh.

I would keep these things in mind, unless you need a phone, then do what you have to do.
 
Ordered on 5/11 and just called CS. They said they just checked and it will definitely ship on the 28th. Needless to say, I am hot holding my breath.
 
Ordered on 5/9 called back today and was told orders placed 5/9-5/12 will ship on the 28th.
:( This last week was annoying enough. Two more weeks is not going to be fun. Holding out irrational hope that something ships this week for me. Also, I'm holding Samsung personally responsible.
 
ordered on 5/9, was told 5/29, got my phone today, no shipping info or notification at all, very happy now.
 
yea i was shocked when i saw the fedex truck stop in front of my house, it even came with 3 verizon screen protecters and a purple hard snap on case, which i didnt order.
