Droid lost internet connection...

This has been happening to me often. But only when I start to use the browser. I usually found restarting my phone fixed it but just found out that by putting it in airplane mode and taking it back off, that seems to work

This happened to me a bunch today. So annoying to keep losing internet. It seemed much worse when trying to use pandora. I would get through one song and then it would switch from 3G to 1x and I'd have no sound. Then I'd finally quit pandora and I'd get "no data connection" then it'd turn right back on.

It happened to me for the first time in the last 2weeks, all of a sudden there was no network ( usually I have all the bars) was it Droid or the network problem ?

Hey guys one thing to check is if your phone "fell off" their network. I had a HTC Touch a while back, and I kept getting no internet connection, then no phone calls were coming through. I finally got a good tech on the line who was able to figure out that the phone "fell off the network". She was able to do something (not *228) and it was fine after that. You may want to call up and check into this.

Was your intermittent? I feel like if I "fell off the network" then I wouldn't get data/phone for good until I'm back on. So did you fall off the network and then get back on and off etc...

Hi guys, l'm having the same problem.

I have 2 droids and one of them is and has been working fine regarding network connections; but the other one is constantly dropping the 3g signal and l can't get it back. At first power cycling would get it back... then that stopped working unless l did *228 opt. 1 first, that only worked a couple times, now l can't get the 3g back for nothing. I'm pretty bummed. Is it the phone or the network? I've been searching for an answer on google for hours because tech support has been of no help.

From my googling l've found people with similar problems; some say they're able to get a tech that can fix it over the phone, others say it's a defective unit. What gives what is going on here?

mine only happened twice... haven't seen this problem since a few days after my original post and preforming the *228, so my problem was likely network related... if you can't get it to stop having this error though, your problem could be a faulty device... and it wouldn't hurt to take it back into verizon. Good luck!

Well that sucks, I've done everything that 6+ support reps have suggested including a master reset and nothing seems to work for more than a few hours. I'm fairly certian that it's something on my account that isn't set up properly after reading several other message boards; but unfortunetly this doesn't appear to be common knowledge between the CSRs.

More specifics on the problem with my droid:
If l toggle on the wifi and then turn it back off after awhile, the 3G network doesn't re-engage as it's supposed to. At first a power cycled would get it to come back on, but now nothing will work; not even a master reset. I've been advised by tech support to trade the phone in for a new one.

Crap. Gotta check this now. I toggle wifi on and off and airplane on and off, now I wonder...don't recall seeing the 3G logo for a while.

I've lost data connection for the third time in the two weeks I've had my phone. I could still make and receive calls but there was no data connection for the browser, email etc. The only way to bring the connection back was a reboot. Should I take my phone to VZ for a swap out or is this a known software issue?

Time for that drive to your local VZW store !

An update: I called VZW and a tech did *something*. Not sure what. Had me take out my battery then mumbled something about reseting my ECN (could have heard it wrong). Anyway, the weird "data connection loss for no reason" seems to have stopped since then.

I don't know how they could magically do anything. I spoke to 3 reps, and they decided to send me a new phone. The problem with network loss I was experiencing could only be solved by rebooting the phone (no airplane mode, no *228, etc). The new phone was fine this morning. I put it down to get ready for work, and the problem returned. AARRRGGHHH!

Have you experienced this at all??? I just had mine give me a 'no connection' shpeel and now I can't connect to the internet :(

EDIT: Rebooted and now it works ok... Weird. It has to be the software and not the service, right?

I had this problem when using the Navigation/GPS feature on Droid Bionic. Tried to use interent after Navigation and had no connection. Had a good phone signal though.

This is not good!:(
