I came from the Samsung Stratosphere to the Droid Maxx that just recently came out.
On the Stratosphere I was always able to use 'My Files' or an app like "Astro" to view and edit my files. Most importantly, I could hide certain folders from the Gallery by adding a '.' to the beginning of the folder name (ie: '.folder').
On the Droid Maxx, this does not seem to work.
Someone suggested using the '.nomedia' trick, where you make a .txt file named 'nomedia.txt' on your PC and transfer it to your phone, where you then rename it to '.nomedia', sans extension. Place this file in any folder containing things you don't want to see, and it should work.
Sadly, this also does not seem to work on the Droid Maxx.
Apart from a third-party app to hide and cache folders (which I would rather not use), is there another way to hide folders on my phone?
