DROID Maxx Pre-Order on Wirefly.

Based on this feedback I think I'm about to call Wirefly and cancel my order. I think my wife is wanting the X anyway so I'll just place an online order for that and the Maxx tonight at midnight when the X goes on sale online.

Yeah I think so. I dont like that no one can give any type of information on probable ship dates. I find it hard to believe that the folks at Wirefly dont know anything. Maybe this is just a reflection of the bad things I've read on their customer service? I am not judging because I've never used them, but did do some research and there are a lot mixed reviews out there.

I just called Amazon again for an update. Preorders went live on 8/20. Email notifications will be sent out before website is updated. Oh yeah, no ETA :-\

I agree...verizon estimates shipping out next Tuesday, the third parties are either no estimate, or a month out. I may go the same route you are going.

Just canceled my Wirefly order and already have my local store holding a Maxx for me and I'll pick it up this afternoon. My wife decided to go with the GS4 instead of the X so I can get our new devices today in store. I wanted to save the $$$, but I can't wait longer than tomorrow plus I feel better about having an actual store to walk into if and when anything goes wrong.

I decided I was tired of waiting as well. I just walked into a Verizon store and picked one up. To my surprise it was cheaper than I thought off contract. They only charged $650 for it compared to 700 on their website and 750 through Best Buy. Which reminds me I know have to cancel my preorder through them

Well, I finally broke down last evening. Walked into the local Verizon store and asked them if they had the Maxx in stock. They did, so I paid the $299 plus tax and walked out with an awesome new phone. I could have waited another week if Wirefly would have provided some information, but since they didn't I just decided to cancel my preorder with them. I also feel better about being able to walk into a VZW store if I ever encounter any issues with the phone. Nothing worse than telephone tech support and having to ship something in to be repaired. Great phone so far, I really love the battery life. My old original Droid Razr would be at 40% or below this time of day and my Maxx is still at 90%. Good luck to anyone else still waiting for Wirefly!

I for one would certainly like to encourage EVERYONE who is waiting for a droid to go direct to verizon. You would get your phone sooner (and so would I).

Well, I finally broke down last evening. Walked into the local Verizon store and asked them if they had the Maxx in stock. They did, so I paid the $299 plus tax and walked out with an awesome new phone...

I just did the same and it is an awesome device! Charging it up to 100 now.

I Can't wait any more. I'm on my way to that horrible corporate store. I swore I would never walk in there again. Rather light myself on fire. However, my battery can't stay charged thru a 10 minute phone conversation. Can't wait till October for wirefly to get them. Good luck all.

I've been checking out this thread daily and thought I would give you all an update. I just got off the phone with a representative at Newegg, who said their warehouse had expected a shipment today. He may be lying, but for those (like me) who were ready to cancel and pay more in a Verizon store (aka hell), I'd recommend holding off for a couple of days. Someone pointed out that Simplexity operates both Wirefly and Newegg Wireless, so everyone is probably in the same boat.

Not sure if this is indicative of anything, but the prices on Wirefly and Newegg both went up to $249.99 and $229.99, respectively.

There is no way I'm giving Verizon another $100 voluntarily. Especially after having to pay $30 for the privilege to change phones. Hopefully the new rumors mean Newegg and Wirefly will ship within the next week.

Yeah I just checked Radio Shack and it is the same 249.99 for the Maxx now.

i feel like i may be the only one left that didnt jump ship but ill keep posting anyways. alot of verizon phones are qualifying for 30% off with promo code VERIZON30. the promo code box wasnt popping up while i was trying to order it online through verizon, so i called verizon to check on it. the person i talked to said that promo code cant be used until Sept 3 which just so happens to be the day online orders are supposed to ship. so assuming 3rd party orders havent shipped by then, you may be able to get almost the same price by using this promo at that time.
