DROID Maxx Pre-Order on Wirefly.

My Verizon order arrived last night! I was a little irked at FedX delivery, but the phone is very nice. Got the Motorola Connect running as the phone is being "tested" by my 7 year old.

i feel like i may be the only one left that didnt jump ship but ill keep posting anyways. alot of verizon phones are qualifying for 30% off with promo code VERIZON30. the promo code box wasnt popping up while i was trying to order it online through verizon, so i called verizon to check on it. the person i talked to said that promo code cant be used until Sept 3 which just so happens to be the day online orders are supposed to ship. so assuming 3rd party orders havent shipped by then, you may be able to get almost the same price by using this promo at that time.

Tried this and was told VERIZON30 is not a valid promo code and could not be used.

Brittany is an airhead. People all across the interwebz have used it on the HTC one as well as the moto x. But as i mentioned, CS told me that promo couldnt be used on the maxx until 9/3.

edit- for the record, i talked to someone in sales. i doubt brittany is in sales or is actually named brittany.

I doubt it but you could try. To be honest, I'm not 100% sure it's going to work on the maxx. The sales person didn't say it wouldn't work just that it couldn't be used till 9/3. So if your still in 14 days on 9/3 I'd call.

It looks like I'll be hanging until next week to see if that coupon will work or if one of the other vendors actually has stock at a reduced price. I was close to buying at full price yesterday, but I can be patient a little longer.

I am guessing that this phone is a lot bigger seller than was expected and Verizon only has enough to supply their own stores and not resellers like Amazon, Best Buy and Wirefly. They sure are being hush hush about it...

Eventually wirefly will ship my pre-ordered phone, and the phone will be just as capable as it was when I ordered it. Unless VZW drops the price to $199 before Wirefly ships mine I'm not canceling my order.

This is what im wondering?! If you bought on day 1, day 14 would be 9/3. Im not sure if that is coincidence or not.

The coupon works now I tried it with the razr m and it went from 49 to 34 dollars it does not work with the maxx. Let me rephrase there is no place to even enter the code when you pick the Maxx. I said **** it and bought the maxx at verizon today. Let me just say the middletown NY store sucks they wouldnt transfer my wifes upgrade to my phone so I could keep unlimited. Which is funny because they did it for my wifes razr m 3 weeks ago. Any way they said they have integrity i mean really your selling phones. I told them to suck it and drove across the street to the mall to the other corporate store and they did it no problem. I am going to put in a complaint with verizon I should not have been turned away.

I spoke with the guy at Costco again today and he made it sound like it would be mid to late September before they have them. I agree with the thought about the 14 day window and the ability to get those who really want it badly to pay the higher price without any alternatives.

I ordered mine through Wirefly on Aug 21. I'm highly considering going to a corp store tomorrow and just buying a maxx for $300 because they are in stock. I don't feel too comfortable knowing that I'll get charged for breaking the contract if my phone breaks after 14 days, and within 6 months - and there's nothing I can do about it.

I admit it's hard to be patient....but be patient. And while I'm no attorney, cancelling an ORDER from anywhere should not subject you to much of a penalty. The 14 days cannot possibly run until you receive the phone.

I couldn't wait anymore with my loaner S3 which lasted me about half a day. I'll tell you what, the peace of mind was worth it for me.
Here are some things to think about which kind of helped me.
You're saving more than $100 if you consider the $25 in taxes you won't be paying. In California, i think it's more like $60 in taxes.
but for that $125, you get peace of mind with defects, and you can move on with your life instead of like me, checking every 3 hours. If I knew when I'd have to wait until, it'd make it less painful but having no idea and just dumb waiting didn't make sense.

I think it'll be at least mid September before Wirefly even gets their hand on it because I know even after corporate VZW stores get it, Best Buy will probably be the next and then maybe Radioshack, before places amazon, newegg and wirefly.

At the end of the day, we can again blame VZW's north korean like management style for this.
