DROID Maxx Pre-Order on Wirefly.

This worked perfectly! i basically had to put the code in for them but they got it, switched my line over to wifes account and boom, droid maxx. love the phone so far.

no trying, it will work.

edit: dont even let them waste time trying to figure your trade in...just give them this code MOTOJB100NEW and say its the code for the trade in program.

Just got this from WireFly
Great news. We just received word that a shipment of DROID MAXX smartphones is scheduled to be delivered by end of day tomorrow. We will begin processing orders today and ship the phones as soon as they are delivered tomorrow in the order in which the orders were submitted. As usual, we will send you and email and update our Customer Support site so you can track your delivery.

I ordered on Aug 14th from WireFly and I just got the same email...

And just today, I was thinking of canceling and trying the Comcast thing. I'm glad I waited.

Congrats to all of you that have waited so long for your phones! I hope you enjoy them when they arrive.

Be aware: I have been waiting on a Maxx from Wirefly.com for over a month, which I pre-ordered for $199. I received notification today that Wirefly had received their shipment of the phones and they would ship out soon. I also noticed that they submitted a charge to my credit card for $249. I called Wirefly and was told, despite my original order receipt, that the price had been raised to $249 and they would not honor the original price. I cancelled my order.

If you are expecting a Maxx from Wirefly and think it only cost you $199, then you better check with them before the phone ships this week. I decided to just trade in an old Droid 3 to Verizon on the Motorola trade-in promo to essentially get the same $199 price. I am done with Wirefly, because this is at best a bad business practice and unethical behavior, and at worst, possibly illegal.

Ouch, that is dirty. They didn't even notify you of this before-hand? Ie, they just charged the card and you wouldn't have noticed otherwise?

Yep, that is exactly what happened. No notification of a price change. If I had not checked, I would not have known until after both the phone and credit card statement arrived. Not an acceptable business practice and certainly bad customer service.

To not honor the order price is illegal. Did you print out your original order?
I am so glad I ordered thru Comcast now. If I get that 100 gift card I will be ahead of Wirefly unscrupulous practices and have Verizon standing behind my phone.
Maybe someone here knows what agency to report them too.

You can report them to the FTC and the BBB.

I just saved my receipt that shows the $199 price so hopefully I don't have any issues. But I won't know unless I'm in the first 400 orders since that's all the more phones they have confirmed.

I also ordered my new droid about a month ago. I received word yesterday that they now have a shipment of phones in and would be processing them soon. I saw the post here telling me to be careful because they might overcharge. Well I went and looked and sure enough I was. So today I called them and even though I had to wait a bit they took care of the problem. They assured me there would be a credit to my account ASAP.

I got an email saying they needed my pin to my Verizon account, So I called to give it to them & Guess What? They Cancelled my pre-order & gonna say they couldn't verify my info. If I want the phone I gotta replace the order and get it at the $249.99 price. Well I'm lucky I have a friend that works for Verizon so he gave me his company discount making the phone $150.00 So I still WIN. But "Simplexity" is trying to make up for their mistake with offering the phone at $199.99, by cancelling or charging people more for the phone.

Simple answer is know your billing password (what WireFly calls a PIN). I had this happen to me yesterday, but my order just went back to pre-order while I got my PIN reset by Verizon. Pretty stupid of them to cancel the order though.

I preordered through Amazon and had a very pleasant experience in contrast to the Wirefly experiences listed above. Phone was $200 and I still have unlimited data.

My only criticism is the way they shipped the phone. No packing material, just shoved the phone (in its own box) in a small USPS sized box. There was no damage whatsoever, but it still seems lazy.

Food for thought for future orders.

Our 2 Maxx's from Wirefly shipped today and Wirefly sure enough overcharged us by $100 ($50 overcharge on each phone). My husband is currently on the phone with them and they are arguing with him that we are incorrect even though our original invoice when we preordered was for the $199 price. They better fix it.

Update: They finally agreed to credit us the $100. My husband was transferred to a supervisor or something but it all worked out in the end. :)

No reputable company would willingly overcharge their customers credit cards. If they do your only remedy is to file a dispute with your credit card company. Even with a printed copy of your invoice its not an easy or fast process.
The fact that Wirefly would even argue over a price at which an item was already ordered shows what a disreputable company they are. It is also false advertizing.
Good luck to those battling wirefly.

Our 2 Maxx phones are going to be delivered today, and still no credit yet from Wirefly. They gave us a "24-48hrs" timeline so hopefully it will go through today. I don't think I'll activate the new phones until we see the credit processed because I have huge doubts in Wirefly right now. It was definitely worth it to save $150 per phone ($100 off purchase price + no tax of about $50) but I can't say I'd go through them again in the future. I never had an issue waiting this long for the phones, but the way they executed the shipments w/ the major billing error is a big mistake, and I think there are going to be a lot of people who don't catch this error.

I was also charged 249.99. I called and spoke with a customer service rep. She kept apologizing but didn't offer to change it so I asked to speak with a supervisor. After waiting for a few minutes, I was informed the supervisor was busy but they would return my call within 24 hours with a decision about the $50. They called back an hour after the 24 hour deadline and told me I would only be charged 199 and my phone was already shipped. When I got home from work... It was here :)

Hey Everyone, If you purchased the phone and your price went up, please PM me and I will look into this for you. We did have price increases, but for anyone who purchased the phone before the price increase, we will honor the lower price. If you need my assistance, please PM me your order number and I will address this for you on Monday. I am so sorry for any confusion.
