droid maxx text picture question

I'm not sure pictures are opening right when I receive them in e-mail. Is it normal for them to open up with a crayon icon at the bottom similar to microsoft paint? I do not get asked how to view like before so I am afraid I have answered the always view/this time only question wrong at some point.....

You can always go to Settings>Apps, tap the Menu button, then tap Reset All App Preferences. This will clear all app defaults. It will also re-enable any disabled apps, so go back and disable them again.
