Droid Razr M: Recent sale of Motorola affect KitKat update?

What does this mean for our kitkat update. When we were put on the update list I knew it was to good to be true.

We do not know if it will affect it at all.

And the sale is not complete.

On the one hand I'm anxious to get Kit Kat but on the other I'm worried about the battery life after all I've read about problems with other phones after updating.
The long battery life is one of the things I love about my M and I'd hate to loose that or have to shut down apps or other things I use now to compensate.

No battery issues for me when my Moto X went from 4.2.2 to 4.4.

No battery issues for me when my Moto X went from 4.2.2 to 4.4.

Mine after the update was bad enough (only 60-65% of pre-update battery life) that I returned my X.

The sale hasn't officially happened yet. It has to be approved by regulatory agencies in the US and China. Until then, it will be business as usual for Motorola, which means that the updates should still be coming.
