Droid Razr Maxx HD - no longer plays videos in Facebook properly

Verizon Droid Razr Maxx HD 4.4.2 - I notice lately in Facebook when I try to play a video it starts to launch it and then aborts and pops back into Facebook. Every once in a while it will play. Sometimes it will play in big black and white jigsaw puzzle blocks.

Weird things going on. This phone has been a rock. Anybody else experiencing the above problems? Several times I almost threw my phone against the brick fireplace to see if that would fix it.

Welcome to Android Central! Try going to Settings>Apps>All, select Facebook, and Clear Cache/Clear Data, then Force Stop. Now open it, log in, and try again.

Thanks. I'm trying that. So far it seems to be running better. The video starts out black and dark but then clears up.

Btw - do you know if this phone will get an OS upgrade? thanks

It's stuck at 4.4.2, from what I understand. I doubt it will ever get updated to Lollipop.
