Hey guys, I just have a question. Is the Droid incredible going to be the Motorola Droid replacement. In other words is Verizon going to stop selling the Droid once the Droid incredible comes out? Or will the nexus one replace the Droid for that matter?

neither. especially after all the money they put into the droid advertising

They still sold the Storm1 for a fairly long time after the Storm2 was out. And that's a case of a clear succession in phone models.

The Incredible and Droid are made by two different companies too, and the Droid is VZW's flagship smartphone phone right now. Have you even see any Incredible commercials on TV? I haven't, but I see at least 10 Droid commercials a day.

I think some people are confused because HTC calls it the "Droid Incredible". It's almost like if Motorola made a phone and called it the "Nexus Two".

Droid is eternal IMO.

yea if you think back to vzw launching their android devices the series is called droid however since the motorola droid is the flagship it just bears that name alone but the htc eris was technically the htc droid eris, the incredible is an eris/hero replacement expect to see the droid sold until next noember when we will probably see a droid 2

I believe the droid incredible will the the eris replacement...

+1 on that. But to the OP, that doesn't mean that anyone having problems with their Eris phones will get an Incredible as a replacement. It just means that Verizon will stop selling Eris phones since there is a newer HTC device out now.

Anyone looking for a lower end Android phone will be steered toward the Motorola Devour.

which is a real shame cuz the eris is so much better than the devour. i freakin hate motoblur! i am so glad the droid does not have it and i hope the droid 2 doesnt have it either.

I would say the next big thing from Motorola is probably the Moto Droid replacement, and even at that they will probably continue to sell the original Droid for at least a year or longer.

Didn't want to start a new thread but I had a question regarding Droid replacements. I have the X but my wife has the original and she is now on her third replacement in a matter of six months. The replacement they just sent is a piece of junk and I was wondering if anyone was successful in getting a free or low cost upgrade to a different phone. I thought I heard somewhere that Verizon was offering the Droid 2 as a replacement. I was just curious so I have an idea when I call them back and complain about the crap refurbs they've been sending us. Thanks for any input.

I've been shopping for a Droid so I can finally get some Cyanogen, I have a DX.

To satisfy the curious cat, I shot an email to the VZW rep I got my DX's through. She said though they don't have them in stores, you can purchase Certified Droids through VZW at 289.99 a pop. So apparently they still have them and I would imagine for quite some time, your Droid will be replaced with another if under warranty.

The Nexus One would never be a replacement as it was not produced with the CDMA and EvDo radios, to my knowledge, that would be needed for Verizon. Not to mention it is a Google phone not a Verizon phone.
