Droid to D2G App Question

I currently have an original Droid and am getting a D2G in the mail on Monday. I was just wondering if I would have to re-purchase all my apps, or if they are linked to your Google Account. I thought I heard before that they were linked to your Google account, but can't find the information anywhere.

Sorry if this is redundant or a bit of a noob question.

They're linked to your account, not your phone. It's always possible some won't work with the 2, but if you're on Froyo for your original that's not likely.
