Droid Turbo 3 wish list

I thought for sure the Turbo would have seen an update before 2016. I'm also carrying the LG G4 H815 around with me too. Both run 5.1 (again, the G4, I thought, would have been updated by now) and both have their advantages.

The Turbo still gives me incredible battery life. It's snappy with the 805 SoC. In fact, my Turbo wins most benchmark tests against my G4. The Turbo camera is junk (I use Camera Zoom) but the G4 produces incredible pictures. I'm not impressed with the G4 battery life.

So while both phones have their strengths and weaknesses, one seems to compensate for the other.

Fingerprint sensor.
Optical Image Stabilization on the camera.
Larger camera aperture, say f1.7.
SD card slot.
Bigger battery. Yes, I'm serious.
Keep wireless charging (don't go to a metal case)

It needs a much bigger battery if it doesn't get optimized. The Droid Turbo 2 is a monster disappointment in the battery department.

Re: Memo to Motorola/Lenovo

Already left the Turbo for the Galaxy S7 Edge. Same battery life, better performance for me in all respects. Part of me wanted to wait for the Droid Turbo 3 or whatever they were going to come out with, but based on the past 1.5 years and how many things are left in the air with updating and such, I didn't feel like chancing it.

I want louder earpiece and mic. People can never hear me unless I am on bt or in a soundproof chamber.

I thought I read somewhere Motorola won't be making any more lines. Levano bought them out.

Idk..... I've taken some outstanding pics with the camera on the Turbo. Then again, I've taken some outstanding pics with every phone camera I've used. But this camera is by far the best I've used, overall, for a phone. Not only have the actual, original pictures come out very nice, I've done some really cool things with the editing features as well.

I've seen many pics taken by people I know to have LG, Samsung, an Apple phones that I consider to be not very good. I think a lot of it comes down to the user. But everyone has their own ideas and expectations about what they should get out of a phone camera, and what level of effort that should be put in by the user.

Personally, I value the gesture features of Motorola phones over, in my case, what are marginal performance benefits of what others consider top of the line phone cameras.

Re: Memo to Motorola/Lenovo

Well, we'll see what the Droid turbo 3 looks like late summer/early fall but as of now I am leaning HTC 10 over S7 when my two year contract expires in October.

Better get that camera in at least the competition or I'm gone lenovo.

I'm not a huge fan of the shatterproof screen. It's too plastic and is a lint magnet. I'd like to see a phone that looks like the Droid Turbo 1, but without the onscreen capacitative buttons.

My biggest problem with the DT2 is battery life, so I want a battery that's in the 4200-4500 mah range, even if it makes the phone slightly thicker.

Keep the rest of the DT2 specs and throw in whatever improvements are ready by October. I love the aluminum feel in the DT2, so keep that. Keep the three back options and Moto Maker. Trim down the bezels, even if it means the phone isn't completely unbreakable. Get rid of all of the openings on the front.

While we are talking improvements, might as well also improve the speaker quality.

There are already rumors on the phone, and has an image leak. The dt3 is ugly, but it'll have 4500 mah, finger print scanner, and it'll be super ultra thin, remember these are rumors.
