So I'm using the "textra" app for messaging and I can't seem to get group chats working and cannot send pictures. Its driving me crazy.

I have the box checked that says to use cellular data for MMS and still nothing. Could it be an APN issue?

I've been a long time iOS user (yes imessage is off) and have tried android a couple of times over the years and as much as I love this device its always these stupid little things that send me back to iOS.

Anyways any help would be greatly appreciated here

Okay so after some testing it seems that photos taken with my camera will not send, could the file size be too big?

I use Textra and don't seem to have a problem with MMS. When my wife gets home I will test both MMS and Groups then get back to you with the results.

Okay so I was messing with the size limit and I had it set to "no limit" and it didn't work, so I set it to 2mb and it didn't work finally I set it to 1mb and that worked....why would lowering the limit allow it to send?

Textra image size is set at 1MB by Default. Anything over that will be automatically resized. It's under MMS Settings

Verizon could have been blocking the MMS message. Most carriers will only allow a certain size file to be received / sent via MMS.

According to Verizon "MMS message size must be less than 1.2MB. This includes text, picture and video messages."

Yea pics all set. I think I've fallen victim to the whole imessage issue. I did turn off imessage, factory cleared the iPhone, and reset the icloud password and still having the issue...such a pain

Apple's iMessage is, IMHO, an abomination. It cause an enormous amount of grief and as far as I can tell, serves no purpose whatsoever. Way past time for Apple to man up & dump it.

It causes issues for when people switch which Apple needs to fix but it does have a purpose. One big purpose is iMessage sends pictures & videos at full quality -- whereas MMS is limited by the carrier. For people who may take lots of videos -- this could be a plus.
