Droid Turbo: Lollipop software update?

So....has VoLTE improved with the update?

I got the update earlier today and my wife and I made several calls to and from each other on her cell and our landline using my turbo and no more delay at all. Interesting though that the notes from Verizon on what was updated didn't mention anything regarding advanced calling delays.

It's odd tho that when you multi tap on the Android Version in the about phone section, it now brings up an S instead of the K.

There is nothing odd about it. The first character of the Build Number is what pops up when you do that on KitKat. On the Droids, they always use an "S", so that's what pops up.

Just received the 21.44.12 sys update to my Turbo. The Lollipop update is probably a ways away.

I downloaded and installed the update this morning and my battery life has since been horrible. I did wipe the system cache when I got home from work and then did a quick charge to bring it up to 80%. 4 hours later with normal use I am down to 30%. Grrrrr!

I installed the new update tonight at a Verizon corp store (using their wifi) ... and so far, no significant change in battery life. With my 'normal usage', I'm easily - typically - getting four days - losing approx 25% / day. However, I usually charge at 25-30%.

4 days!? That's pretty amazing. Maybe I'm just to heavy of a user. I've felt some heavy battery damage since I've downloaded fb and this other game though..

Don't let him/her fool you, no one that USES their Turbo gets 4 days of battery life. Only way to get 4 days is if the phone is turned off at times or using Airplane mode often.

1. Are you happy with your turbo and it's operation?
2. Do you realize that when you get this update your phone probably will be buggy?
3 so enjoy your current bug free phone for when you get the update you are going to complain

I can honestly say that I USE my phone and typically get two days, most times 3 days. I always charge my phone when it hits 25%~. I too use about 20-25% per day

Then you guys are probably like my dad... uses a $1200 computer to play solitaire and look at his Facebook page. :-)

Seriously, even if you use the battery only 25% per day it's better to charge it daily most of the time and maybe once a week or two bring it down to 25%. Batteries like lots of small charges better than fewer big charges. The battery pack lasts longer when it does a small charge most of the time.

Battery life with these phones I've found is greatly dependent on signal strength. If you have great mobile signal and use wifi a lot you'll get a lot more battery life than I do, because my mobile signal is weak almost everywhere I stay. It's ironically only when I'm driving around that I get good signal. When I visit family members I get much better battery life than I get at home.

DatabaseMX has already admitted to being a light user, with low screen brightness and barely any actual use (has yet to post screen shots though from what I can see). They are also assuming they would get that much if they ran down to 0%. So, that definitely skews their reports on battery life. I'm sure my phone would last the better part of 4+ days if I used it for 15 minutes per day and turned off/down all superfluous settings. But I, like most, enjoy using my phone and am happy with the 40+ hour battery life I typically get (that's just usage time until I charge at ~20%).

Apologies for the tangent.

I agree #doogald. The Droid Turbo's 3900mah battery is about allowing the owner to enjoy his/her smartphone the way they want, anytime they want, without having to worry about charging your device throughout the day. And...if on the rare occasion when you need to charge the Turbo before you get home for the day...BOOM, you have the rapid charger that will give you 20℅ more battery in just 15min.

Its NOT a contest on how long you can stretch out your battery between charges. :-)

For me, Its simple... charge it over night, wake up in morning, enjoy device with no battery worries. At bedtime, stick it on the wireless charger and start over the next day. I keep the Turbo charger in my laptop backpack in case I need a quick charge.

Call quality is unchanged. Still really bad. /HD calling off again.

What is the issue you are having about call quality? Unless you are truly using HD calling between two phones that support it you're not going to see much difference with advanced calling.

Since the first update that supported advanced calling back in December I have not had one dropped call or audio issue with this turned on. This was a big issue for me as I often use data on a call. I did have the occasional delayed voice at the beginning of the call but it appears this update fixed that also. I do have to say that I have very strong 4G signal wherever I have been so I'm sure that helps.

A "staticky" sound. Doesn't happen with HD calling off (ever) AND the delay that you spoke of. It doesn't matter if it us on a true HD call or not. It is a problem for me either way.

The call quality issue has been well established as problematic on these forums so I'm not alone. It was rumored that this update fixed the issue but it didn't (which is why it wasn't mentioned in the changelog I suppose).
