Hey everyone,
I am new to the androidcentral forums so hopefully this post is in the right place.
I've had my Droid Turbo for about two weeks now, and early on I figured out that the speaker is on the front of the phone above the camera. At first I assumed that sound was coming uniformly from the speaker grill thing, but then I noticed the two slits on top of the phone, one on the left and the right side, just below the speaker grill. I figured those were the actual speakers, and that the grill is perhaps just for show? Anyway, I noticed today that the sound is coming from the left slit and not the right. I tested this by covering either slit with my finger and could feel the vibration of the sound and reduced volume when I cover the left slit and and very little impact on volume when I cover the right. So having said that, my exact questions are:
1) if the slits are truly the speakers, does that mean that one side is broken on my phone?
2) if the slits are not the speakers, then what exactly are they for?
3) Reviews and specs for the Droid Turbo list it as having only one speaker, so perhaps sound is only emanating from the left side because thats where the sole speaker is, but if that is the case, then what is the right slit for?
Sorry if these questions seem trivial or already been answered before, but I would like to clarify because there seems to be very little on the internet about the various details and exact placement of the speaker on the phone. Coming from the Galaxy S3, I'm new when it comes to the Motorola line of phones, so perhaps the answer is that its always been this way. I've actually had to replace this phone already as the first Droid Turbo did not have a working camera, so I would not like to do it again if possible. As soon as possible I will go to a Verizon store and compare my speakers to the floor model and see if there is truly something different about my phone.
Thanks in advance for the feedback!
