Between the battery and 32 GB vs. the 16 GB storage on this one, it's like they're trying to not sell any Ultra's. MAXX for me (pending the Moto X announcement).

Correct if I'm wrong but bigger battery + 32GB vs. smaller battery + 16GB has been going on since DROID RAZR MAXX vs. DROID RAZR.

Remember that their audience includes families and people on a budget. The extra cash for the bigger, better device might not be an issue for us. But for the Millions looking to upgrade or buy into Verizon it's a big deal. Marketing for each device will be specific to their target audience and I bet Verizon will do just well with the new devices.

There is only 1 mm size difference and $100, which isn't much over the lifetime of a device.
That may be critical for some families I know but at least for me it's an easy choice.

For most people it'll be either Mini or Maxx. Either save $100 or spend $100 more. No real reason to go Ultra. Only reason I'm getting the Ultra is because its only $100 for employees.

It's interesting that as of earlier today the mini was the only one with a delay at this point. There must be a huge demand for these phones relative to what we see on the message boards. Once again proving that we Android fans rarely relate to the real world masses.

The "masses" can get by on the $100 (on-contract) phone.

True. I love my Maxx but there is a huge amount of folks who prefer a smaller profile in their phone.

Especially when its literally spec for spec the same as the $200 phone

Yup. Only display and battery are different. Battery is close and because of the smaller screen and lower resolution, I wouldn't be surprised to see the MINI last longer than the ULTRA.

Like I said, the only reason I'm getting the Ultra over the Mini is because I can get the Employee Edition for $100. Otherwise Mini is the way to go.

Does anyone know for certain if these support voice and data simultaneously on LTE? I know most VZW Android phones do but the iPhone 5 didn't.

Every LTE VZW phone except the iPhone 5 does.
