Droid wakes up by itself

My motorola Droid randomly wakes up to the lock screen by itself. i'll have it on the table not touching it at all and the screen will turn itself on randomly, it's always at random intervals. i've looked through all the settings of my phone and any app i can think of, and i can't find any reason for it. i think it might be a defect in the phone because i just got it as a replacement and my last droid didn't do it and it had the same apps on it. i've looked everywhere and i can't find anyone else with the same problem. should i take it back to verizon or does someone know a reason why it would do that?
