Droid X Dock

I bought all my accessories at my local verizon store...received the 20% discount. Really helped me out since I bought the Dock, screen protectors, HDMI cable and a case.

They should have given you 25% off since you bought 3 accessories...

Bought the dock the other day from VZW with 25% discount and I have to say that it's a great purchase. Obviously nice as a clock/alarm cradle, awesome stand to watch vids on, and can still use complete functions while it's in place. I'm happy!

I use a program called "droid settings profiler" which allows me to set up my profiles just like on my old blackberry. I really missed that feature until I got the app. It's a couple bucks I think, but well worth it for me so I can set up a night profile so that only the phone ringer will wake me, but no messaging or other alerts will wake me up. I have it with the default of 3 profiles for normal, vibrate, and night and that seems to work out great. You can even set up each profile to have wifi or bluetooth on or off for that particular profile. It's a handy app coming from a blackberry last year to a Droid. It works just as well on my new X.

Thank you. That program works for great.

Here's another 3rd party dock for the DX (Droid version shown below)

I like mine, but I have noticed that it is a bit difficult to pull the device off sometimes. I don't think the connectors are perfectly aligned.

Also I think it would have been nice if it had a 3.5mm stereo out jack.

I've noticed that it is easier to take it off the dock now. Not sure if I'm just used to it or maybe it is broken in a bit.

I have the dock and I like it. The X gets to sit nicely every night on my night stand charging and watching over me while I sleep.

That being said, when I add a case, the dock will be useless since it is so nicely form fitting to the X. Seidio usually comes out with cases then docks that will accept their cases. That being the case, once that happens I will have a lightly used Motorola desk dock for sale. First person to PM me gets it, free shipping and a very fair price.

I like the dock. Main reason i got it was to put it by my bed and use it as a alarm. The only problem with that is I have to manualoly put phone on silent and turn off notifications. On the storm 2, it had a bedside mode. I could set it to turn the radio off when plugged in and every night when i put it in the dock, it automatically went to bedside mode and when i took it off the dock in the morning the phone came out of sleep mode. I'm going to miss that feature.

Use tasker. I have it turn on my bluetooth when docked, and turn on my radio and auto dim my lcd.

How do i make my DX into alarmclock. When i used to plug my storm in, a clock wld appear on a screen. When i plug my DX it doesn't do that.

I like the dock a lot. The biggest gripe I have with it is the fact the left side of it is soo loose! I'm afriad if it ever gets knocked over, it'll take the micro usb, and mini(?) hdmi ports with it. Other than that, it's quality stuff.

I got for 35% =)

It's actually micro-HDMI; don't make the mistake of buying the wrong kind (I almost did).

I really like the dock, but my weather display is not working right. It is showing the city, but no temperature, when in the dock. Out of the dock, it does display correctly. Was working fine the first couple of days. Any ideas?

I do agree, it is very difficult to put the X in and out of the dock.
