Here's an situation that I doubt anyone else has experienced before - whenever I use my Droid X on the ear that has prosthetic (titanium) earbones, I get a shock. No issues with my other ear.

Anyone experience similar problems?

I haven't specifically seen this issue probably because I don't have a titanium earbones...but I have had issues w/ earbuds and static electricity.

I had this same issue with my iPod Touch too. Basically during the winter, when static electricity is high because the air is so dry, static charge can build up and if there is enough it'll discharge through the ear buds.

The way to mitigate it is to use ear buds that do not have metal on the outside. I had a pair of Full Metal Jacket Skull Candy ear buds and they were the worse. Painfully to the point where I got plastic ones.

I would imagine that because you have metal in your ear, it could probably make it worse for you.

Hope that helps!
