I new at this but I'm thinking about buying a droid x that's rooted and has Liberty 3 installed. I don't really know what this is. I assume it makes the phone better but I don't know how. I had one of these that was rooted and I never did anything else to it. It seemed a lot faster my just doing this to it.

Is this somthing to stay away from? Does it change the service provider?

Thanks.

Welcome to Android Central.

I hope first of all your getting the device from a reputable source. Many people have been taken advantage of from people that are selling devices with outstanding bills on the account and the carrier of the device won't release the device until the bill is paid in full forcing you to flash the device to a pre paid or pay as you go carrier service..

Just be careful bottom line where you getting this used, rooted device from.

If you do decide to do so, rooted and running the custom ROM normally is better than stock and has nothing to do with changing the carrier service provider.
