Droid X need Bluetooth Peripheral Device Driver - PdaNet Bluetooth DUN

Hello,

I am trying to use the Droid X as a bluetooth modem with an HP laptop running windows vista professional 64bit. Whenever I try to sync using PdaNet it tries to install drivers and it cannot find a Bluetooth Peripheral Device Driver. I have been searching and trying things for hours! I am able to get it to work with a USB cable with PdaNet and Easytether but not through bluetooth.

what do I do?

Thanks!!

I had this same problem with the original DROID ... it just couldn't quite go all the way in setting up a Bluetooth connection with my Toshiba laptop (using the little Toshiba USB Bluetooth receiver)

Why do you need drivers or PDAnet for Bluetooth tethering?

Just set up your phone for Bluetooth PAN (Personal Area Network) using the built in stuff in Windows or OS X. It will just work and not need any drivers or anything.

The only downside I found is you can't be connected to WiFi too.

How has this been solved? Im still trying to get it installed with no luck. Anyone have a fix?

Have u read the post above yours? Have contacted pdanet and seen what they have since its there app? I just use free tether works fine for me.

Yeah I tried that and it does work but I was hoping pdanet worked out something that was able to get better speed. I had tether for bb and running bt thru them rather than the other way gave me faster speeds.
