droid x not all that!!!!

What's really the point? About the only main difference between the EVO and Droid X is HTC makes one and Motorola makes the other.... They both run Android and they both have almost identical spec sheets. Almost all the phones hitting the market right now are going to be just neck and neck in almost every feature.

You basically got a photo finish between all the smart phones coming out right now and the few others coming down the pipe in the immediate future.

I can't see any real major differences between Droid X, EVO, iPhone 4, Droid Incredible and the Nexus One.... EVO has a bigger screen, iPhone has the better display, Incredible and Nexus One are basically the same phone, just slight different builds.....

I think it basically comes down to which network has the best coverage where you work, live and play and then you pick the phone that you like best. Now later this year or early next year when the rumored 1.5 ghz dual core processors hit the market then you can compare to see how much better they are vs what is out today. Until then it's a almost even fight up and down....

How does the Droid X's display look in video chat (Fring / Skype) mode?

For that matter, how does the iPhone 4's display look in video chat look when you're not at a WiFi hotspot or when you're chatting with another user who doesn't have an iPhone 4?

Oh. Never mind.

LOL!

I will admit that I'm a sucker for a really good display on a phone (mostly for viewing pictures), and the Iphone 4 has the BEST display right now on a phone. Droid X looks like it'll be really nice, too, but I'm happy with the Evo's display. It might not be the best but it's still not bad, either.

yes, droidX is indeed all that.

so what?
evo is all that too! i know 'cause i got one.
evo rocks. i'm 49 years old and spent nearly 6hrs playing with my evo yesterday.
i think dX will rock too. iphone rocks too. a coworker has an iphone and i really like playing with with her iphone. damn battery last forever

Not that I want a Droid X, but I am lucky, I have an Evo, and qualify for an upgrade on one of my other lines in October. So if something really kick butt comes out that makes me want to go away from Evo, my kids can have it, and I can go to the new phone. Then by the time that new phone is old, another line comes up for renewal. I can do that about every 6 months, LOL.

I am glad other phones are coming out and pushing the cutting edge of technology. Hopefully my next phone will have a 4.3" retinal display, a mechanical shutter, a 2GHz quad core processor, 2GB of RAM, a 1GB video card and battery life that lasts a week on heavy use. Until then, all I can say is "I Love My EVO"!!!

Please never refer to a display as retinal. It's apple's stupid name for a high resolution display.

LoL I couldnt agree more. People need to lay off of the Steve Jobs cool-aid...

Next thing you know he'll be calling the back cover an "exo-skeleton shell" just to make it sound cool (which the sheep will eat up of course).

I had a guy at my work with an iPhone 4 and he used the term "retina display", I felt really sad for him and asked him what that meant. He couldn't tell me =/

While the iPhone 4 has a very nice, albeit "tiny", display, it's not all that. Yes it looks nice, but when I first looked at it, I wasn't completely blown away. The fact that it is only a 3.5" screen just takes so much away from its high pixel density. Compared to the Evo and Droid X, the new iPhone looks like a little wimpy toy. Both my friend with his iPhone and I are zoomed in on the same text as far as the phones would let us, and neither one of us could make out pixels....that's probably because we don't use a magnifying glass or a microscope to look at out screens, we use our eyes. So yeah Uncle Steve...great job with the marketing, everyone is going to expect magical things to happen to their eyes when they look at the new iPhone, but the true, tangible magic is the size of the Evo. Bow down, little fruit phone!

Yeah, even though I have a Nexus One I still have SERIOUS 4.3' envy. Makes me feel really small =(

My next phone will be 4.3' or greater... size does matter =P
