Droid X Review up at Anandtech

The review is excellent, not because it generally has a positive view of the X, but because it is fair and thorough. They thoroughly put the phone through its paces, mentioning pros and cons, little tidbits, going into extensive detail to cover everything about the phone.

Websites like engadget and Gizmodo play with their review unit phones for just a little bit, give up, write their unhappy review, and go back back to playing with their iPhones. Always some slant or bias towards the iPhone. I'm not saying the iPhone is a bad product; I'm just saying that those sites don't write fair and thorough reviews like Anandtech or other sites do.

Don't get me wrong, I still read both sites, but generally I avoid their reviews of anything cellphone-related.

Otherwise, excellent review from Anandtech

"Everything about the X seems like it can be followed up with a “that’s what she said.”... Amazing lol.

The most in depth review I have seen. The only thing I don't like about the Droid X right now is that I can't find a single store in San Antonio, TX that has one to buy!?! Looks like I will be getting mine in August...another couple of weeks with the Storm1.

That was a well done review. I've yet to see any site be that thorough. engadgets reviews consist of one of the biased employees playing with a droid for a little bit and whining about something insignificant like button layout. They should just be exclusive to apple devices.

Anandtech is generally excellent in all its reviews IMO. Engadget was ok...not nearly as bad as Gizmodo. Still, most reviews (positive or negative) aren't as good as the sort of in-depth review Anand puts up.

Anandtech has a long reputation in the desktop hardware review biz, I'm glad they are turning the same attention to Smartphones too. They have a great forum community too, just stay the hell away from their politics board, no matter what way you swing.

All I want to point out is how competitive the X was against non-Froyo N1's. Then look at the Froyo N1 scores. The Dx and the D2 will be two of the most powerful phones when they get Froyo.
