Droid X .SBF

The SBF file is in the zip file called "Phoxus_-_Droid_X_Gift.zip". You should see that as the first file, on top of the two driver zip files. Unzip that somewhere you know, like the desktop, and when you run RSD there is a little button with "..." on it. Use that to browse the desktop for the SBF file you just unzipped (it will be large, like 200 something mb). As for the pictures, they should already be on the sd card I think. That is unaffected by all this mess.
Hope this helps. Perhaps you can avoid the bootloops like myself and alfive!

I don't see what unzipping did though. I could go right into the zip folder and move the SBF file and it is the same file I see in there even after I extract all the files and unzip the folders. Am I missing something? The SBF file is only 1.3KB in size.

What happens, I believe is that after you unzip it to it's own folder and start the process, it creates temporary files in that same folder that are then loaded on your device. So RSDLite needs somewhere to put those files.

I hope that's what you were asking.

when I right click on phoxus droid x gift and select extract all files it creates a new folder with the same name just unzipped however inside that folder is the same SBF file the only difference I notice is that the zipped file was compressed and the new one is not.

Don't do that. Just drag it to the desktop

Wait don't do what? Ok let me re download and start over. Once I re download the SBF tell me step by step what I should do.

The main folder is labeled the gift. Inside is the phoxus folder and 2 drivers folders that are zipped aswell. When you right click the main "the gift" folder and select extract, the new unzipped folder it creates still contains the same 3 zipped folders. Don't I still need to unzip or extract the phoxus folder?

Now I am lost

If you have the 439 mb file named "VRZ_MB810_1.13.6.2_1FF_01.sbf" then you have the correct file no need to re-download. Flash away and Have fun!

ok thanks so when I open RDS I just find the folder that this file is in and select this file and I should be all set?

Out of curiosity what are the drivers folders for? The 2 that aren't used? Do they need to be extracted as well?

It happened to a few of us. I'm thinking it was from not wiping first since the way we fixed it was to boot in recovery and wipe the data and cache and the all went smoothly.

Gotchya.

I had to go through this procedure myself the first day, after I messed with the boot.prop file trying to fix my Market issues. It took me 2 hours to figure out that the reason RSD wasn't seeing my phone was because I kept putting it in recovery mode instead of bootloader. o_O

This also happened to me a couple times. I took a chance and unplugged it. Pulled the battery and waited 30sec. And rebooted. All seemed fine after that.
This happened to me last night. I had bootloops. What I did was start all over, reinstalling everything, and then following the directions to a T again. I also booted into recovery first and wiped as much as I could. I don't know exactly what fixed it but it worked after that.

Let me know what works for you just in case it happens to me again.

Extract and use the drivers that pertain to your system 32bit or 64bit otherwise rsd may not recognize your phone

See there is nothing in the directions for flashing back to 2.1 about this at all. So now I unzip or extract the 64 bit drivers for my version of windows 7 then do what with them? Everytime I think I got this figured out I get confused again!!

Even though I have zero issues with froyo and I am loving the upgrade and new features it wasn't worth this so I just wanna figure out how to go back and wait for the official release which at worse should be less than a month away.

Coming from blackberries this is definitely not as easy to upgrade and wipe and downgrade at all. But now knowing what is coming in froyo and the nice fixes I can wait for the official.

Ok never mind I figured it out and ended up not being that hard..sorry about the little rant but it definitely isn't as easy as it was with blackberry. It is still very new to me and I guess will get easier the longer I have it and the more I do it if I do intact decide to install leaks in the future.

Rooting had peaked my interest as well but I don't fully understand that and have been to scared to jump in.

I am confused about this:
Unzip the SBF into a folder.

5. Open RSD Lite and find the UNZIPPED SBF

What does find the unzipped sbf mean? Am I supposed to move it to the rad lite folder? Right now they are in two different folders on my desktop. I also do not know what ".." means. Sorry to be so thick.
Thank you

Easiest thing to do is unzip it to the desktop. Then start up RSD lite. There is a button in the center with a label "..." just go to this and browse the desktop for the SBF file you put there to start.

Something is different about this 2.1 downgrade. I am on it currently and the phone runs better than it ever has. Is it possible it could be a different build of sorts from when the phone was released? I have noticed a handful of things that needed improvement beforehand that are fixed, and I am still on 2.1. Rooted as well...

Well I am most disappointed in having my volume issue back which is the only real complaint I personally had with the X. I do miss the newer market, new voice search feature, and flash but didn't want to take any chances when the official is released I wanna be ready.

But yes after upgrading then flashing back down this install of 2.1 is running smoother and faster then when I first got my X. I noticed it right away because I expected open the app drawer and get choppy scrolling but it has been smooth as butter. I am also not having the same camera issues I was having before, my camera seams to be working as good as it did with 2.2 just without the touch focus. Not rooted

Might be a good idea to add to the first post instructions on how to get into bootloader and also into recovery mode. it kinda sucks having to read through almost the entire thread just to find the button combination needed to enter these modes.

I followed the directions to a T. But the start button stays grayed out when I am at the point to click it. Anyone know what this is?
