OK so those of you who use drop box please help me out.

i open the app. and longpress the song and there is a copy or download option wich i press..and it downloads.. the question is where is it downloading to?

i seem to have to go into the SD card via astro and then move the file into the MUSIC folder on the sd card. Is there any way to just download right to the music folder.

also i cant seem to download an entire album from my drop box into the phone either. any tips on that ? thanks.

It downloads to your sdcard/dropbox folder. Don't see a way to change folders. Also, I think the 1 file at a time dl is a limitation of the software.

Dropbox is a service that keeps your files and folders within your dropbox synced between all your computers and devices. On a PC, part of the syncing process is to download the actual file to your hard drive. On a phone, with probably limited bandwidth and/or drive space, the actual downloading of the file is not done automatically, but requires you to manually download it. Think of that as the final step in syncing. So that has to happen in the dropbox.

Then, whether on your PC or phone, it is your responsibility to move or copy a file from your dropbox to some other folder.

So again, conceptually, downloading a file onto your phone is really the last step in syncing, so it makes sense that that happens within the dropbox folder.

Why does everyone use Dropbox.
I tried it and didn't care for the lack of features.
Sugarsync on the other hand has a lot more features. It now even automatically sync in the background. (take a picture, and a few minutes later it is on my home PC, automatically)
To me, Sugarsync is a whole lot better. Yet everyone only talks about Dropbox.

One reason I use dropbox is that it is supported by 1password directly, so I can keep my 1password in the cloud and my desktops (home and work), laptops, and phone can all access and update my 1password info. Super handy.

Your right though, sugarsync has more features and more storage.

just read the reviews on sugarsync and they dont look so good.. dropbox seems perfect.. just needs more free space. ... and is a little bit of a pain to have to download from the box to sd card. then sd card to my music... eh not that bad i guess.

Dropbox has more all-round support from other apps I use (Titanium Backup, QuickOffice Pro, etc).

Sugarsync does look good, but last time I checked, you could only link two computers with the free account. Is that correct? How does that work on mobile devices?

I sync two desktops and my Android.

I use dropbox, because as i download apk files, and wish to save them besides the sd card on the phone, I use it for storage only , it also makes it very easy to reinstall files back to the phone too, after i install dropbox.. i haven't found anything better and have built up a 4gig storage with dropbox too..
