Drop test crash guard bumper

Mine arrived a few hours ago, and has exceeded expectations (which were pretty high to begin with). Love the feel; real solid. Fairly grippy. Not as grippy as a TPU or silicone case, but it doesn't stick to the lining of your pocket like those do. For me, that getting stuck on the fabric of your pocket as you're removing it was a potential cause for drops.

The buttons are stiff, but positive. I like them, as the button placement on this phone made it too easy to accidentally push them.

Fit and finish are as good as I have seen, and it looks really good on the phone. I have an aluminum 6P, and the white case is white around the sides, with grey buttons, and that same grey color exposed on the front and rear.

While a little thicker than the Ringke Fusion it replaced, the phone actually feels thinner and more svelte with the Crash Guard. I also like that there is no translucent material around the flash as I got some rather nasty flare from the flash with the Ringke case on.

I only have one complaint… I always considered easy removal a major criteria for my cases, and I haven't figured out the method to easily remove it. It is stuck on there really good. Any ideas?

With that said, the phone looks and feels so good with it on, I may not have any reason to remove it. Still… if one of you geniuses figures out an easy way to remove it, I am all ears.

We'll see how easy it is to keep the white "white". All in all… 5 stars for now.

Did you get the screen protector and back film??

do you think the bumper would have any affect on a skin? I only ask cause of how snug you said it is ... I'm gonna grab either the black or blue.

Nope. It is not that tight where it overlaps the edges of the back of the phone. The snugness is due to it not being all that soft of material, and having little give in the corners.

There are a number of picts in the Nexus 6p accessories forum on XDA. If there is something specific you want to see lemmeno and I'll try to get to it tomorrow.

just headed over there and saw em ... gonna order the blue one ... it'll add some color to my graphite. thx!

cool, I have the Nexus microfiber on now but I accidentally raise my volume all the way up constantly. also have the Spigen clear and was gonna use that with a skin in a few months.

I'm gonna grab a blue one of these though. It'll look cool with the black metal on the rear, blue carbon on the visor with blue X ... Might as well grab the black one too and another skin from DBrand. all black with an orange X would look pretty sick.

My crashguard arrived today. Really like it more than I thought I would. I was worried that it would make the phone feel bilky. Not at all. I was using a clear tpu case. This feels way better. It improves the grip and I appreciate feeling the actual phone in my hand instead of plastic.

I may buy it if they sell it on Amazon. I'll also wait for you guys to test it out first. Who wants to take one for the team? Film yourself throwing the phone off the second floor.

I received this message from Evolutive Labs today:

"Amazon At Your Service

Starting early next week, we will start selling the RhinoShield CrashGuard Nexus 6p and 5x Bumpers on Amazon (US)! This will allow us to expedite the shipping for our US customers. For those of you who have Amazon Prime or gift cards, be sure to take advantage of this new option!"

I was just about to order the RhinoShield Crash Guard for my daughter's iPhone. But some of the reviews leave a lot to be desired regarding the quality of the bumper. There are a lot of reports of the bumper deteriorating, cracking, buttons peeling off etc. There are also pictures in some cases to suipport the claim. Here's a link to some of the reviews: http://www.amazon.com/Rhino-Shield-Crash-Bumper-iPhone/dp/B00SS7NJUK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1454685493&sr=8-2&keywords=rhino+shield+crash+guard+iphone+6s

Mine arrived in the mail yesterday... It's okay... I like the feel of it... it's a little on the loose side.. It's not a super tight and snug fit.... the buttons take a lot more effort to push than the case I had on it before hand...

I see similar poor reviews on Amazon for some of the best products I've ever owned so I wouldn't let those dissuade you.

Check out some real evaluations on you tube, particularly from Erica Griffin and David pogue.

Mine fits really tight. You can pull it away from the phone on the sides but that's just how bumpers work. If they had made the plastic stiffer it wouldn't have the drop absorbing effect that it needs. My phone doesn't move at all in the bumper and there is no extra space at all. I haven't tried to remove it yet but I can imagine it'd take some effort. The buttons are pretty hard to press. It takes some getting used to for sure. Looks and feels high quality.

True, I understand where you're coming from. However I purchase fairly frequently from Amazon, but do let myself be guided by the reviews. As a result, I haven't purchased any items that don't have good reviews. We're talking about hundreds of reviews on that case, and 10% give it a 1/5 rating. But seeing that I don't buy items with such low reviews I guess I can't confirm whether or not they are accurate and/or fair. Perhaps it's still worth a shot, as I had also intended to buy one for my N6P. And thanks for the youtube suggestions. I'll have a look.
