Hi guys. I'm new to this forum and this is my first thread.

I have this phone for almost 3 weeks now and it's great! Yesterday, I dropped this phone in the train (I have got a cover) from about 1 ft height. There was no physical damage but one of my apps froze (this is the first time an app has frozen). I thought that it could be an issue with the app and did not worry much. Later last night, when I charged my phone, the charge was stuck at 99% and wouldn't charge fully for a long time. I did a restart but still had the same issue. I unplugged the charger and went to sleep. This morning, my battery was still at 99%. When I started using my phone, it dropped to 90% within less than 1 minute of usage.

Can anyone please advise what could be wrong? Should I hard-reset it? Any other suggestions/views?

Thank you in advance.

this doesnt seem to be caused by a hardware issue - so i wouldn't worry too much about a possible battery damage.

a battery re-calibration shouldn't be necessary after just 3 weeks of usage, but you may want to try that.

use your phone normally until you deplete the battery. leave it for a an hour or two in that state and then charge to 100%.

What app froze? Have you tried to uninstall and re-install the app that froze?

Thank you for your reply, Troneas. When you say 'deplete', do you mean let it go down until the phone shuts down by itself? If yes, I've heard that by doing so, the battery life is shortened. I will give it a shot anyway.

Cheers!

Thanks, again. Appreciate your assistance. I will try the 2nd method and let you know if I experience any further issues after that.

After you get your phone straight, DON"T DROP IT. Unless you get a good, heavy, hard case like the Otterbox Defender.

Haha. I won't drop it. I will be purchasing the Otterbox Defender in a week or two. mostly, the navy and green one. Thanks!

Otterbox, a great way to make your phone turn into a brick. In all seriousness, just get a regular case. Unless you decide to take your phone to war against a Nokia 3310, you're fine
Source:HTC amaze with $5 case has been more durable than friends GS3 with otterbox. Dropped it from my car window height onto its back, flat on. No damage

Haha. Good old 3310. HTC One + Otterbox Defender will probably still lose against the mighty 3310.

That's my only issue with Otterbox cases. They will ruin this phone's looks. If you don't mind, can you please suggest some tough cases (preferably with link)? Thanks!
