Dropped one time too many

So I tend to drop my phone from time to time...had a case on it for awhile but I got tired of it. Anyway I dropped my Optimus S and now the screen won't show anything. Its strange though because the backlight for the screen comes on and I can still get phone calls and answer by sliding where I normally would. Adb functions work just fine but I can't see anything in recovery either. I'm sure screencast will work but I haven't bothered to try. To be honest I'm kinda half hoping I can't fix it so I'm forced to purchase a new phone lol. I couldn't justify the expense before but if I HAVE to get a new phone thats different. Figured I should at least try to see if anyone has some magical fix.

Abra cadabra.... You may have busted the screen. Dropping flash memory driven hardware seldom leads to a software problem. I haven't done it, but you may be able to get another Optimus S and switch out the screen. Or you can take advantage of the opportunity to get a new phone of your choosing and then run Debian on your headless Optimus S.

Yeah I figured the screen was busted but I assume that if the screen was broken the touch functionality wouldn't work but it works fine.
