My husband dropped his factory unlocked N20U yesterday getting out of his truck. It was in a protective aluminum case with a Whitestone Dome screen protector on it. He said it hit his running board and then concrete in parking lot.
Screen protector of course was smashed but not the actual phone screen. However the display now is strange - half of regular phone screen with wallpaper and icons is visible but lower half is nothing but a strobe light.
Contacted Verizon Asurion claim service last night and replacement phone was overnighted (prob will get a VZW instead of unlocked) and should be here today. He isn't sure if he can back up his phone someway or use SmartSwitch? Maybe he should go into a VZW store for help?
Any thoughts or suggestions? He's trying to commandeer my N20U.
How much the insurance charge as a deductible ?Sorry but I have ZERO INTEREST in a foldable...they WILL break from repeated openings.
Pixel...jury out.
The N20U may be my last Samsung though. Tired of the non-existent promises they make and fact I am STILL waiting on eSIM on my unlocked phone when the phone is capable of it by simply turning it on is unforgiveable.
I like Android but I may seriously look elsewhere for the next phone.
Dang they charge almost same price as screen replacement , i haven't used insurance on my devices for over 5 years nowAsurion replacement deductible was $249.
Sounds like he needs a Nokia 3310 and some anger management classes. We haven't used insurance in ages either. Bummer because it was just hubby being in a bad mood and not paying attention that caused accident in first place. Oh well better than last time we had to use insurance - he got so frustrated over lack of internet and cell coverage and literally threw a brand new Note 8 at the wall...

ImpressiveNever had to make an insurance claim. No insurance! One minor injury over the years. For the small amounts involved, I will take my chances. Let's see, 23 years no insurance, that should cover the cost the day I get unlucky.![]()
I certainly didn't want to drop mine either. But my pup jumped on me and knocked it to floor. Things happen. I had it in a case with screen protector still cracked.
But using a case and screen protector could minimize the damage when you drop your phone
