AC Question

Disappointed that the European versions of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge phones do not come with dual sim capability. Does anyone know if I bought an Asian version of one of these if the dual sim capability would work in the UK (ideally 1 sim for calls and the other for data)?

The dual sim or, "Duos", models are marketed by Samsung in the South East Asia only. If you use the dual sim capability of the Duos, you lose the external SD card slot and only have 32GB of storage. Whilst the Duos would work in the UK, it would, of course, need to be switched between sim cards to use call and then data.

The Duos phones will let you use one SIM as the default for calls and messages, with the same or other SIM for data - no need to switch between SIMs.

You generally can't put carrier firmware on (EE in UK for example) and keep dual-SIM. Also some messaging apps don't let you choose which SIM is used for texts, others do.
