Duplicate contact problem

Hello folks,

Using a Blackview A60 Pro, I'm used to Samsung but broke mine so this is a backup until contract renews. It's got Pie os.

When I transferred all the data from my Samsung all of my contacts duplicated. I deleted the ones on the phone keeping the sim ones. The problem is, when I look at contacts when using the phone or messaging the duplicates are there but if I click the contacts icon on the home screen there is only one of each contact. I can't see how to delete from within the phone and messaging app.

Any ideas?

Were your contacts originally on your Samsung phone's Samsung account or Google account, or were they on the local Phone account? You can check if they're in your Google account by going to contacts.google.com on your computer browser and seeing if they show up there.
