DX shipping by Aug. 18th

So I went to order my new DX online today only to find they're now shipping by Aug. 18th. Wow. Guess I should have ordered earlier... DX = new DInc??
On a related note, since it's likely Froyo will be out on the D2 by then, is it possible any DX purchased after the 18th/D2 release will come with 2.2 loaded stock? Because that would be sweet and one way to make up for their epic fail at being well stocked for the DX launch and beyond...

edit: oh, and here's some more wishful thinking: if Froyo is out by then, maybe root will be already figured out by the time I finally get my phone. AND maybe with the open source code released, there will have been some strides made in cracking the bootloader for custom ROMs!! but probs not...

Highly doubt they'll ship with 2.2. Its possible, but highly unlikely. Especially seeing as how Motorola states the X STILL won't be getting 2.2 until "late summer", which to me means end of August, early September. Sigh...

And I wouldn't hold my breath for cracking the bootloader anytime soon
