e-mail setup

I'm trying to set up my mobile me (.mac) e-mail and I keep getting the error message "cannot connect to the mail server to verify your account information. Your server is not responding."

I can get e-mail but cannot send. I triple checked everything to make sure it's right.

Weird, as I had no issue setting up my POP3 or GMail accounts?

Check your outgoing mail settings. I work for an ISP and our customers have trouble sending mail via cell phones if they don't have their outgoing mail setup to require authentication/username & password.

Just a thought, based on what you described.

To get my hotmail to work i had to change the default outgoing mail settings from security type: SSL to TLS and everything worked fine after that, now i just need to find where i can get the incoming mail to push faster, i read to go to setting, but can't find it yet.
