Ear piece volume is very quiet and volume does not change with volume rocker

Recently I've noticed that in calls, the volume in the ear piece speaker is very quiet and when I use the volume rocker to change the volume in calls, there is no change in volume at all. I've factory reset my phone to eliminate any apps that may be the problem and no change in volume. I do not know if it was a recent update that caused this problem but any help would be great.

Give the shiny metal bits a polished and inspect the hole for debris maybe...
