Early QC issues

I've just been speaking to a person in the UK who had their phone supplied by their Network with the same issue.

Advised them to have it swapped out.

Just went to Verizon to replace. Guess what, new one has it too but slightly less obvious. This one was from Vietnam. Original from Korea. Samsung may have to issue recall for this. Guys at Verizon where dumbfounded by it.

I reordered, but not sure if I'll return the new one if it also has the same defect. Next time I'm in a best buy I'm going to take a look at their display model.

My understanding is that if your unit is from Vietnam, you should be good. The ones with the defect are from other countries. :(

Another thing to keep in mind is if folks decide to keep their units with defective screen and then it does get worse down the line, could impact if you want to trade in next time. Clearly, it is a flaw that Samsung should not penalize folks for but with them, who knows and who wants to go through that agita!!

Yeah, that's what I thought and specifically asked the Verizon rep for one made there. Low and behold we open the box and it's there but not as bad as the first one made in Korea.

Not true. Mine is from Vietnam and has it.

I imagine it has more to do with the panels and where they came from or the batches involved than the location where it's all assembled.

Often even though these are all Samsung panels, they could be manufactured from multiple companies they can send to all locations putting them together depending on need.

Sincerely doubt that. This is an assembly issue

But the displays are manufactured probably by Samsung Display maybe in India. And from the description of the defect it may be when the panel was being assembled at the display factory and not when the panels are delivered to the various factories where the entire phone is put together.

It isn’t the display itself, it’s how the display was assembled into the rest of the phone. That’s why some have it and some don’t, and some aren’t as bad. If it was an issue with the actual display every one would have it.

All the Ultras at Best Buy had it. The black one as not as bad as the others.
