Hey guys, im looking forward to upgrading my current phone to an epic 4g ( i currently have a pre :() but my upgrade is valid as of october 1, i have been reading that sprint may push this upgrade 2 weeks earlier but when i went to a local sprint store one of the representatives told me i had to wait till october. So is it really possible and the rep was just being an ***? any infowould be apreciated, btw first post :P

I got the Epic on my Wifes plan one day early to get the phone at launch. I have read post that it is possible to contact stint and upgrade your phone up to two weeks in advance. though the Sprint rep was not able to make the change she transfered me to another rep, possibly a supervisor that adjusted that date.

The sprint Rep also stated that the Sprint retail store has the same ability too.

If all else fail hangup and call again, theirs always a rep that will help. I know they didn't do it for me the first time.

I talked with the store supervisor but the reps over at that store are kinda meh, they dont even know their phones well ~.~

The standard policy is NO if you're on a one year upgrade cycle, but 2 weeks early if you're on a 2-year cycle. I tried through the Sprint Store, Best Buy, and calling customer service, but no luck. Customer service may cut you slack if you're adamant, I only had to wait one day so it wasn't a big deal for me. If you're able to get them to change it, right now Best Buy is selling the Epic for $229 if you want to save extra money, AND buy it in person versus the Amazon route.

When you upgrade after one year as a premier customer do I extend my contract for anther 2 years?

I got a Pre 6/9/10...two year contract/premiere customor. Just bought Epic on 9/3 I believe.

Sooo..can I get a 2 year upgrade on 6/9/11? or is my contract with Sprint now til 9/3/12 and I don't get my one year upgrade til 9/3/11? I probably should have asked this before I upgraded but I needed a new phone that day.

When the Evo first came out, I tried, and tried, and tried to get my upgrade early. I spoke to soooo many reps! I had a couple of reps tell me that they could upgrade me 2 weeks early but I would have to actually call back in two weeks before my actual upgrade date (which was August 1st) and have them move it up for me. Guess what? Two weeks before my upgrade, I got a big, fat NO! I was furious! After that, I just decided to wait it out.

Funny enough, I was finally able to get my hands on the Evo only to return it and get the Epic. Lol.

So many people will tell you different things. However, I know of people saying they were able to get their upgrade early so I say just keep trying. You may be able to find that one rep willing to go the extra mile. Good luck! :D

Hahaha ill try and @Sub150 yes u definitely made another contract but no biggie since with sprint you get to change your phone ever year :D

I was in the exact same boat (Oct 1). I called Sprint Account Services last week and the wonderful lady Kelly made things happen. However, your experiences may vary.

My Pre is on the verge of certain death so maybe that helped my case.

Whatever you do, don't get your upgrade through wirefly though - they borked my shipping.

I did this for my EVO a couple weeks ago, just so you know you can get an upgrade 2 weeks early (if your the primary on a 1year upgrade (Premier Customer)) but it takes some work on your side. I called customer service first and talked to a very helpful woman who put some notes on my account that I could upgrade early, I had to complain about the PRE's hardware and say I want to stay with sprint but I need new phone. Then when I actually went into the Sprint store I called *7 and then had to get a supervisor on the line to changed my upgrade date. They cannot do it in the store. It also took 2 calls to *7 at the store because the first person didn't know what they were doing. Hope you have the same success I did and enjoy your new 4G phone.
