When playing an audio on my LG K20 plus and wearing Apple earpods, if I press the pause button various actions occur. Sometimes it works correctly - pausing on the 1st press and restarting the play with the 2nd. Other times the pause button activates OK Goggle. (I have turned off OK Goggle in the settings and Talkback is also supposed to be disabled - both to no avail.) After OK Google is activated (screen says "Say 'OK Google' or tap mic) if I press the pause button again the device will start to look for and/or play a music file (it will not go back to the radio). From there it loops between listening for OK Google and looking for music file. If I tap the back button on the screen and get back to the radio, I can use the pause button to restart the radio. Obviously this is not acceptable.
I read another thread on this forum addressing this problem on a LG V10 (https://forums.androidcentral.com/lg-v10/603612-issues-when-plugging-headphones.html) from 2015-2016. The responses on the thread got a little too technical for me to follow but the gist of the matter was that it was a hardware problem and there really wasn't a fix for it. Does anyone know if the issue has ever been addressed and a solution found?
Most importantly, I need to know there any wired or wireless earphones with a remote that will work with the phone? Will the one-button remotes have the same issue? Should I avoid earphones that also have a mic? What about bluetooth earphones? Are there any brands of these that have remotes that will work? I've been considering wireless earphones by Bose and MEE Audio.
