Adrynalyne who brought us the EB01 leak said use it at your own risk because the kernel you are using is stock and he doesnt know what they may have done to the kernel to safe guard themselves, i would wait for some custom kernels to be released

I was following a thread in XDA where someone was testing whether Verizon was going to apply additional charges to his bill given his use of tethering..

The thread has not been updated in several days... I think Verizon got him.

I know that the tethering apps do work but have not been able to validate that Verizon will apply additional data use charged based on the use (abuse).

I have opted not to use tethering at all until new kernels are released.

IMO, its not worth the risk. Tethering works, but its just so dang risky right now.

That said, we have SirGatez, kernel dev extraordinaire, working on making the i9000 kernel source work for us. So keep the faith, this guy is amazing.

For what it's worth, the last month or so I've been taking the dive attempting to see if Verizon would do anything and my bill was no more than it normally would be. Keep in mind, this is just me and I'm in no way implying Verizon won't do anything, but I thought I'd share my experience with everyone.

Generally though, I agree that it's too risky unless you're stupid like me :D. Or just don't care what your next months bill is going to look like, of course.
