EBook(document) Reading Problem

Has anyone else encountered this problem. I'm reading a .mobi ebook(document) that I sent to my Kindle Fire HD. If I accidently touch the screen lightly, I am kicked out of the reader, back to the carousel. When I go back to my ebook, instead of taking me to the last page I read, it takes me back to an earlier saved position in the ebook. It is really frustrating if you've read dozens of pages, then have to page through the book and find where you left off.
