Anyone using EC01 or ED01 notice similar situation where 3G bounce in and out of connectivity constantly? Originally thought it was Community Rom, but later change to Evil Fascinate 3.4 and 3.3.2 with same issue. Downgrade to EC01 and same issue. Here are some pictures of it.

Did *228, wipe cache, wipe data, wipe devik, and all of that each time. No idea what's going on.

I had this problem on ec01 using evil fascinate. I believe I was having it on ed 01 with evil as well. After flashing to the community rom and wiping everythingi haven't seen it again. I have no idea why it was doing that

3G Random Disconnect Issue

Apparently as several people have confirmed the issue is related to with a combination of upgrading to ED01 and corruption of lock code data stream. You can either call for 2nd Tier Support and have them re-activate your phone / push new data stream or you can go on VZW and re-activate your phone. To re-activate your phone method via VZW, you need to have a spare phone to activate to and wait 5 minutes and activate back to the fascinate.

I just tried the 2nd method and that apparently did in fact stablized my 3G so far. At least so far. Before my 3G would random disconnect every 3-5 minutes. Now, it been active for a straight 10 minutes so far. Let's hope that fixed it.

Keep us updated on what your results are. I might end up trying your method. *228 activates the phone right?

ok so just got off the phone with verizon, they had me do *22899 which i recommend u guys all do or call them and have them walk you through it, hopefully it helps! Also they r pushing the thundernbolt like crazy! I told them why would i want it when you cant even keep your 4g up and running, made her laugh out loud. Aight guys hope this helps!

ok, so i tried *228 option 1 and 2 and pulled battery after the automatic reset (which was recommended to me by the verizon CSR). That didnt work. So i did the *22899 which left me with the same result. I finally got into Verizons tech support and he had me check a few things like making sure my data roaming was selected to Automatic. After all looked good in the settings he had me do a factory reset in: Settings/ Privacy/ factory data reset... After wiping everything and starting from scratch... it looks like it did the trick. I have been online for the past 20min without a disconnect (before it would do it every 2 minutes).

update: 30 min later... it's still crappin out... maybe its just related to the network lte problems Verizon is having

update again... activated my old phone and swapped back after 5 mins seems to have done the trick. I has been a few hours and i have had no issues

Swapping phones on the account works. Verizon was having a known issue with 3G that was affecting an unknown number of customers. Some tier 2 or 3 techs were just restoring people's data stream somehow, though when I called VZW overnighted me a warranty exchange.

Unfortunately not as the ED01 update somehow screwed up the data stream from VZW's side, not user side.

How's that new phone working out? Is it a new one or a refurb, or can you not tell which it is?

either way 3g sux here on this mtn top ..in and out.. have to twist necks or close one eye for service.. ahahahaahaa and people wonder bout 3g .. put my tower back in action..

Im on the phone with verizon. I explained to them that I went thru all trials mentioned above and they still want me to repeat everything UHHHH! Is there a direct number to tier 2 or 3 techs?
Tech 2 suggested a refurbished phone. What you guys think?

Can you do the ESN swap with any phone? I have an old LG chocalate but no other smart phones to try this on. I would love to try this as my radio has been crap on EC01 and worse on ED01,

Thanks,

Yes it will work with any old Verizon phone. I used my old LG Dare to do the ESN swap.
