If they got it approved for the active 3 I'm sure they would push it to the active 2 after they release the 3. That's how Samsung likes to do it. I was shocked when the note 10 got Android 10 before the s20 release. Maybe that's a sign they're changing their ways. I guess we'll see.

I'm just warning people not to get their hopes up or buy the active 2 just for those features.

That pretty much applies to any product :O That's why I never pre-order anything ;-) I wait and see what the real deals going to be before I hand over any money

Well, clearly I should have skipped the preorder last fall and gone with the less expensive model.

Now for folks who say they need FDA approval and FDA has more important things to deal with right now...true, but this has been in the works for months. I feel that Samsung has dropped the ball on this and failed to communicate with customers.
